Painless Dentistry

Lasers are the Holy Grail of futuristic dentistry: minimal discomfort; faster healing; more refined treatment; no vibration.

  • We use the latest in technology
  • No drills or needles
  • Pain free!

What is Laser Dentistry?
Laser dentistry involves using extremely focused light beams to change or remove small amounts of tissue, and is a process that is still relatively unheard of.
There are a variety of procedures that dentists can use lasers in, including removing any overgrown tissue, reshaping gums or whitening teeth. Laser dentistry can also be perfect for anyone who become anxious when having dental work done. At Integrated Dentalcare we have four lasers: a state of the art water laser; a soft tissue laser; a low level laser therapy (LLLT) laser and a diagnostic laser. Dr Neeraj Puri is a Dental Phobia Certified dentist.

Waterlase Laser Treatment

We are proud to be part of a small group clinics to be able to offer Waterlase dentistry. By gently energising pure, distilled water, this amazing technology allows us to carry out numerous procedures in a safe and gentle manner.

Unlike a drill there is no vibration, no heat, no whining noise resolving in faster healing time with much less discomfort and apprehension.

The Waterlase is an amazing tool that allows us to treat decay or cavities without having to use local anaesthetic injections.* We are able to treat gum disease more thoroughly than was ever possible before, as we are able to create a sterile environment for the tissue to knit back together around the tooth.

In many cases this allows the regeneration of bone, taking the tooth back to before there was gum disease. We are able to carry out surgery in a more controlled and less damaging fashion.

Treatments laser dentistry can offer

While most issues that laser dentistry can treat are related to your gums, the treatment isn’t completely limited to that. With laser dentistry you could be treated for any of the following problems:

  • Treating gum disease
  • Treating infections to the root canal
  • Canker/cold sore pain
  • Removing inflammation of the gums
  • Exposing wisdom teeth
  • Reshaping gums
  • Lengthening crowns
  • Removing any folds in your oral soft tissue caused by dentures
  • Preparing teeth for any dental fillings

Benefits of laser dentistry

  • Procedures that are performed might not require stitches
  • Certain procedures won’t require anaesthesia
  • Laser aids in clotting exposed blood vessels, minimising the amount of bleeding
  • Lessens chance of bacterial infection
  • Wounds often heal faster
Barry Dunford, Perthshire (2015)

I was looking for a holistic dentist who could offer a metal free implant, i.e. a zirconium implant. As a result of Neeraj Puri using laser technology during the treatment I found that there was almost no swelling and very little pain immediately after the dental surgery. After having had dental work over a number of years with other dentists, I can honestly say that Neeraj’s advice and technical ability is second to none. As a result, I now have a metal free zirconium implant which is functioning perfectly and has fully integrated into my jaw just like a natural tooth.

Not been to the dentist for a while?
Many people avoid visiting the dentist for as long as possible due to their fear - which may have stemmed from previous issues at a dentist’s office.

We spend lots of time and effort making sure our patients feel comfortable and build trust with us, as we want you to enjoy coming to the dentist as much as possible. Call us today to find out more 0131 225 9093.
